March 11, 2011- Earthquake/Tsunami in Japan
Today was one of those days where I should have been scared, but I wasn't. I guess so many things have happened here to us, that I don't get scared as easily as I used to. I don't think it's because I am so brave, but because my faith in God has grown alot. I have seen Him move mountains and lift me up from the lowest valleys. I just have alot more trust than I used to.
Today, after the giant earthquake and tsunami hit in Japan, they announced that it was going to hit here next. They were counting down. 2 hours...1 hour.. Sean was crying and all distraught. He has been through ALOT and being a kid, he was really scared. We huddled together as a family and prayed and just got a real peace, not only for us, but for the whole Philippines. God is so good to answer our prayers...and protected us from the disaster than could have happened here as well... Praying for those in Japan

March 7, 2011- Baguio
Ferd and I went to Baguio today to visit some American friends that we have there. They have a children's home and their ministry is special to us in more than one way. You see, Ferd's cousin is legally insane. She keeps having babies with different men and then tries to kill the babies. So, this past time that she got pregnant and went into labor, the doctors lied and told her the baby died in delivery. Then, they called us. We had prayed and considered taking the baby ourselves, but it would be dangerous for the baby, because eventually, she would find out that we have him and it would be a huge problem. So, we needed to find a safe haven for this little new born baby. We are thankful for John and Kim who have a home for abandoned and orphaned kids. So, we placed the baby in their care and it was nice to go and visit with James ( that's his name). He is growing and doing so well and we are so thankful for the Lord's provision in this little guys life.
Mens' Fellowship, March 5, 2011
Today Ferd brought some the men from LBC and TBC over to San Fabian and had a time of Bible Study. Instead of Ferd doing all the teaching, he invited each one of them to share things that the Lord has been teaching them... It was amazing to see some of the more quiet men, stand and share things that they have learned through their personal Bible Study. BLESSING!!!
March 2, 2011 - Never a Dull Moment
Just received word that Ferd's mom was bit by a snake and had to be rushed down here to the hospital. They live WAY back up in the boonies, I am talking jungle all the way! She was getting fire wood to cook since they cook outside and when she lifted the wood, the snake jumped out and bit her on the foot. Needless to say, we are all shook up and are waiting to hear from the dr. The fact that she is still alive and not swollen up, we are pretty assured that the snake wasn't poisonous. But, the dr will will keep her overnight for observation. I am not kidding, each and every day of my life here is something crazy like this!!
