About once a month, we get away for a day or two as a family. Things are so insane here in Bolosan that we have to physically remove ourselves. It helps us to think clearly and seperate our family life from the ministry. Otherwise, we would go crazy. We took 2 days and went to Clarke ,Pampanga where we love to go. Since it was a former US military base, there are tons of import stores. We usually go there once or twice a year and get some favorite things like Pop Tarts, cereals and chips..all the wonderful imported junk food that we enjoy.
The area is populated by Filipino Pygmies called Negritos and they are so sweet. Since they are sort of outcasted here, they do not hold regular jobs in businesses or stores, etc. They survive by farming and selling their goods. We loaded up on Kamote( sweet potatoes) and Ube from them.
