Oct. 12, 2007 - Flying Solo

Tonight was a HUGE accomplishment for me. For four years I have helped, assisted, lead music and did small odd jobs for the teen class while Ferd taught. Since Ferd has been so busy with the house project, I will be teaching and leading the group all by myself!! At first I was a bit nervous. After all, I have only taught children for 4 years and when you mess up your language skills with kids, they don't seem to notice as much. Teenagers are different. They are VERY observant , and can be very critical. I know, I used to be one.
So, I just prayed and prayed for the Lord to give me courage. And, I stand amazed at how well it went last night. It was as if the Lord spoke through me. I only stumbled on maybe 2-3 words, but I taught a whole 35 minute lesson, completely in Tagalog. We studied on the topic of Pagsubok ( Trials), from the book of James. I made it a group Bible Study, so that I dont come across as trying to be a "pastor" . I made them all participate and share their thoughts, so that it was more open, instead of just them listening.
We had a great time, and I truly know now that " I CAN do ALL things through Christ!"
