Today and tonight was a total stress fest. Along with trying to be a Mommy to my 6 year old, I had to prepare for the Teen meeting tonight and the Ladies Fellowship tomorrow. I stayed in the office studying, working, xeroxing, etc..all day. 10am-10pm. It's hard on Sean when I have a busy week. Im glad that next week things slow down for us and we just have our normal ministry stuff. Sean LOVES going to the church and playing with the teen girls and Grace. He also loves to visit Ferd at the house grounds....but after about 4 hours, he is ready to go home.
But today, I had so much to do. I am semi-ready for the Ladies Meeting. And my main focus was getting ready for the teens. I worked so hard...but the meeting tonight was a bit frustrating for me. We did have 3 visitors ( all teenage boys) and the Lord allowed me to lead the lesson semi-clearly. But there were 3 VERY immature boys about 13 or 14 who rattled me the whole night. They come from rough homes...no father figures, etc. But, they were so disruptive, making it hard to consentrate. Its hard enough teaching in English...much less Tagalog when someone is being disrespectful.
When class was over and everyone loaded up on the Jeep, I went back upstairs to find out that the table that those boys sat at was vandalized. They wrote all over it! Grafitti style. Ferd and I paid for those tables with our own money last year ( 70 dollars a piece) because they are long enough for the teen class to sit at. Oh, my blood was boiling. I spent the next hour...tired and hungry....but scrubbing those tables.
Lord, help me to remember that these are troubled kids. They have no idea who you are. May I be a light to them...a source of LOVE and COMPASSION that they do not get anywhere else. Help them to keep coming, stay out of the many street gangs in Bolosan...away from drugs and help them to find YOU, oh Lord...Bring them into our church here at Lighthouse Baptist.
