May 9, 2007

Sean and I spent the whole day stuffing envelopes and getting them ready for mailing. Though most people can stay informed through email, we still have hundreds of folks who only get our updates through the mail, so we want to make sure everyone stays involved.
Tonight we had Prayer Meeting which was a pleasant surprise. Four visitors from Sunday came back for Bible Study and Prayer. That is always neat to see an interest from new folks.
But the real fun happened after church. Out of nowhere, a HUGE monsoon- like rain came. Ferd had just drove everyone back home on the jeep, and we were preparing to go home too. It was such an incredible rain, which is strange since it is technically still DRY season. Wet season starts in June and lasts till December, which I hate.
Within 5 minutes, everything was flooded. We were stranded at the church till nearly 11. Finally the rains let up for a bit and we decided to venture home. Our house is 10 mintes from the church, but it took 45 since the roads were all flooded. I was scared the water would come in our van. Thankfully, we made it home safe and sound.
I guess rainy season is coming early...which means 6 months of rain, mold, and wet laundry!!! Ugh!
