May 1, 2007

Wow, where to begin today??? VBS went great. No brown outs, more organized since we knew how many to expect, and again, many hands went up for salvation. It was a perfect morning of ministry. I spent the rest of the afternoon preparing the crafts with other girl-workers and we wrapped up around 1pm. Next I had a counseling session with 3 teen girls who are fueding over...what else, a boy! No matter what country you are in, or what language you speak...problems are the same wherever you go.
After my Counseling session, Ferd , Sean and I finally left the church around 4 after being there all morning and day. We stopped by the market and bought some snacks for VBS tomorrow, which was miserably crowded ( market place pictured above). We were on our way home and since today is a holiday ( Fiesta Ng Bangus "Feast of the Bangus( a type of fish), tons of traffic and people everywhere.
We were on our way home and all is well and normal, when we came upon a crowd on the side of the road. In the middle we saw a young boy lying limp and his mother holding him and crying histerically. Immediately my heart just began to beat fast and knew that once again, God had us at that point in time for a purpose. Everything that happened with the VBS, fueding teens, marketplace crowds, were putting us at that spot at that time. This is THREE times now that we have happened upon accidents in the past 4 months!!!!
Ferd jumped out and found out that boy was hit by a Jeepney. His legs were badly injured and he was knocked out cold, but alive! So, we loaded him up in the back of our car with his mom and sister and rushed them to the hospital. Ferd had 2 whole hours to witness and share the Gospel with the Mother while in the ER. All things work together for GOOD. I have seen it over and over.
The little boy was released about an hour ago and is ok. No broken bones, just really bruised and cut up. The mother invited us to come to their house and couldnt stop thanking us for stopping when no one else would.
